At Select, we are professionals that know the hotel market, the condition of hotels and the right fit for a group. Barbara Thavis, CMP and Maureen Beck are members of Meeting Professionals International (MPI). We regularly attend industry functions including the World Education Congress and the Professional Education Congress to stay on top of industry trends. Relationships
When it comes to driving down room rates or securing special services, sometimes it's not just what you know-it's who you know. We have strong relationships with hotel and conference professionals and we use them to your advantage. By attending MPI and other industry events we maintain old contacts and secure new ones on a continual basis.

RFP Development
A comprehensive RFP (Request for Proposal) is a necessary tool when securing space. It can be time consuming and frustrating when you don't know what to include. We walk you through the process of collecting the information and we compile it into a form that is helpful to our hotel and resort partners.

Research
Based upon your needs, we identify appropriate properties, confirm availability and secure preliminary rates on everything from sleeping rooms to meeting space.

Reports
From start to finish, we provide consistent communication including easy-to-read comparison studies of potential sites. Reports can include availability, sleeping room rates, meeting space charges, number of rooms, number of suites, ballroom sq. ft., breakout rooms, website address, resort fee, bellman fee, maid fee, taxes, gratuities, health club fee, charge for local and toll free calls, golf cost, tennis cost, other activities on-site, distance to off-site activities, cost for transfer to off-site activities, distance from airport, cost for airport transfer, comps and upgrades

Site Inspections
We will schedule, arrange and, if needed, attend site inspections of appropriate and available properties.

Negotiations
We address all the details during contract negotiations such as rates, cut-off dates, complimentary commitments, meeting space charges, food cost and more. Our volume business enables us to get preferred rates and amenities. We strive towards lowering our customers' exposure while increasing their value.

Cost
Our services are free to meeting planners. Our fees are paid by hotels and are based upon sleeping room revenue.
